General Surgeon - Summerside

THE POSITION: 

• The Prince County Hospital, located in Summerside, is seeking a full-time general surgeon. Prince County Hospital is a 102 bed regional hospital that provides speciality services in Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Pediatrics, Otolaryngology, Psychiatry, and features digital imaging, CT scanning and ultrasonography. There is excellent Anesthesia and ICU support and state-of-the-art Endoscopy and minimally invasive surgery equipment. 
• The Physician will join two other surgeons on staff. 

• Requirement for sharing call rotation of one in three. 

• The physician has the option of choosing salary or fee for service payment modality. 

• The Master Agreement between the Medical Society of Prince Edward Island and the Government of Prince Edward Island offers a competitive compensation package with good retention initiatives. 
• Remuneration ranges from $192,720 to $222,832, depending on qualifications and experience. 
• 22% of shadowed billed claims. 
• Extra compensation for on-call requirement. 

• $40,000 Return in Service Grant for a commitment of 2 years return-in-service. 
• Moving allowance - minimum of $10,000 and maximum of $20,000. 
• Opportunity to teach with the PEI Residency Training Program with faculty appointment at Dalhousie University. 
• Electronic patient record system. 

• Physician must possess Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada eligibility or certification.
