Emergency Medicine - Summerside
THE POSITION:
- The Prince County Hospital is seeking a full-time Emergency Physician.
- Physician will work with six other full-time and multiple part-time E.R. Physicians filling a schedule of 8 fte lines.
- The Emergency Department serves a catchment area of approximately 45,000 with an annual visit volume of 33,000, and an Emergency Department admission rate of approximately 7% reflecting a high acuity case mix.
- The Department benefits from access to digital radiology including plain films, CT and U/S.
- The Prince County Hospital is a new 102 bed regional hospital with an 8 bed ICU that provides speciality services in Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Anaesthesia, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Pediatrics, ENT and Psychiatry.
HOURS OF WORK:
- One fte is 32.5 - 34 hrs/week depending on the line taken, divided into 8 and 9 hour daytime shifts and 12 hour nights (2 or 3 per 20 day cycle).
REMUNERATION:
- $165.00 per hour
- 22% of fee-for-service shadow-billing based on the Master Agreement between the Government of PEI and the Medical Society of PEI.
- Additional separate billing fees from third party payers (e.g. RCMP, Workers Compensation, international/Quebec patients).
INCENTIVES:
- $30,000 return-in-service grant attached to two years of committed practice.
- Moving allowance - minimum of $10,000 and maximum of $20,000.
- Opportunities to teach with the Family Medicine Residency Training Program.
- An electronic patient record system.
