Incentive Plan

The Physician Recruitment Incentive Plan has been established as a result of the Enhanced Physician Recruitment Incentive Plan which began in April 2000.

The Department of Health continues to support the principles of this Plan which are as follows:

to ensure that Islanders have continued access to physician services by enhancing the recruitment of physicians and supporting existing physicians;
to provide incentives for young Islanders to consider a career in medicine and return home to practice;
to ensure that Islanders have continued access to physicians as a result of the two above principles.

The central office for the recruitment effort is located within Corporate Services, Department of Health and Wellness.
